If you’re looking for specialist equipment which can be used to alert emergency services when out at sea or on the water, then our large selection of Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBS) at Adec Marine will keep you in safe hands
Having specialised in the sale and hire of equipment with a focus on marine safety for many years, we are knowledgeable about each of the products that we stock, and can assist you in choosing the right EPIRB for commercial shipping vessels right through to yacht and leisure boats in line with legal requirements.
Our large stock of EPIRBS, including ones from leading EPIRB manufacturer ACR, offer manual and automatic operations with innovative tracking technology and use international search and rescue satellite systems in order to transmit messages on the 406MHz distress frequencies to the nearest available rescue centre. By employing this method, our EPIRBS can easily pinpoint locations within 3 miles of the equipment.
Our GPS models permit more accurate positioning in the event of a search and rescue emergency and allow positioning with accuracy to within 50 metres of the EPIRB.
You will find that our latest model, the ACR GlobalFix Pro EPIRB product, combines both US Military and NATO technology with more than 53 years of technology inbuilt. Complete with a full digital display and integrated GPS, this EPIRB enables the seamless handling of any search and rescue emergency that you may find yourself in while at sea.
In addition to reliable and efficient EPIRBS we also stock a range of Personal Location Beacons (PLBs) and Search and Rescue Transponders (SARTs) which have the same objective of aiding emergency situations at sea and use mobile and radar pulse retrospectively to determine positioning. Our VHF Radios are also useful in a variety of weather conditions and range from small, lightweight and flash n’ float models.
Our PLBS can be used on land or at sea, as they can be registered to the person carrying the, rather than a specific boat, and work efficiently in the most extreme weather conditions while SARTs are a commercial requirement on all commercial shipping vessels. You will find models from manufacturers Jotron and McMurdo below, which all comply with international regulations and can emit radar signals that can be picked up by other vessels fitted with Marine Band radar within a 5 mile range.
In addition to EPIRB and ACR EPIRB hire, we are also able to offer the additional facility of servicing and replacing batteries on all ACR EPIRB, EPIRB and SART devices whether they were your own existing models or have been purchased from us.
Our aim is to ease the burden of knowing whether you have the right safety equipment while out on the water and aim to assist all of our customers with not only our products but also our experience, skill and knowledge of commercial marine safety equipment.
